- The free scan sends us your store's address. We don't keep copies of your pages.
- Stripe takes payments. We never see your card details.
- We don't use cookies or advertising trackers.
- You can ask us to see or delete your data at any time.

What we collect and why
| What | Why | Legal basis | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|---|
| The store address you enter in the free scan | To run the scan you asked for. The pages are checked and the results sent back to your browser; we don't store the pages. | Legitimate interests (providing the scan) | Our logs keep the store's address, the time and the number of issues found for up to 30 days. |
| Your IP address and browser details | To deliver the site, keep it secure, and stop abuse, for example by limiting how many scans one visitor can run. | Legitimate interests (running a secure website) | Held in memory for 10 minutes for scan limits. Our host keeps short-term request logs. |
| Emails you send us, and our replies | To answer your questions and arrange work. | Legitimate interests (replying to you) | Up to 2 years after we last hear from you, unless you become a customer. |
| If you book: your name, email, business name, store address, billing details and what you bought | To provide the service, send receipts and keep business records. | Contract, and legal obligation (tax records) | 6 years after the end of the tax year of the sale, as UK tax rules require. |
| Audit and fix work: notes and screenshots of your store, and any test login you give us | To test your store and write your report. | Contract | Test logins are deleted when we deliver the report. Other work files are deleted 12 months after the work ends, or sooner if you ask. |
| If we contacted you about your store: your business email address and name, as published on your store's website, and what the free scan found | To tell a business about a service relevant to its website. | Legitimate interests (telling businesses about our services) | Deleted within 6 months if you don't reply. If you ask us not to contact you, we keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list, so we don't. |
| Visit counts | Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and a few actions, such as a scan starting, without cookies and without identifying you. | Legitimate interests (improving the site) | Kept as combined totals. |
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use these providers to run the business, and they only use your data on our instructions:
- Vercel Inc. hosts the website and provides its visit counts (USA).
- Google provides our email through Google Workspace.
- Stripe processes payments. Stripe also uses some payment data for its own purposes, such as preventing fraud, under Stripe's privacy policy.
- A freelance accessibility auditor who checks our audits under a confidentiality agreement.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of these providers process data in the USA. Those transfers rely on the UK-US "data bridge" where the provider is certified under it, or on the UK's approved contract terms (the International Data Transfer Addendum).
Cookies
This website doesn't set cookies. When you pay, Stripe's checkout page sets its own cookies to process the payment securely.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, or to move it to another provider. You can object to how we use it at any time, and we'll always stop sending you marketing if you ask. Email connor@openaisle.io; we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
If you're in the United States
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
